Credit Bureaus

When was the last time you reviewed your credit report? If it’s been more than a year, be sure to protect your good credit by reviewing your free credit report from at least one of the three major credit bureaus.  AnnualCreditReport.com is the official site to help consumers obtain their free credit report from the three credit reporting agencies, Experian, EquiFax and TransUnion.

You can obtain a free report from each of the three bureaus once every 12 months.  You can get them all at once, or stagger your requests throughout the year.  If you request the report online, you should be able to view it immediately.  Requests via telephone or mail will take approximately 15 days for processing.

The free credit report will not include a credit score.  You can obtain, for a fee, reports with scores from any of the credit bureaus listed below:

CredAbility (formerly Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Atlanta) is a nonprofit, community service agency whose services are open to all members of the community.  CredAbility provides confidential budget counseling, community-wide education programs in money management, debt management programs for consumers who are overextended and comprehensive housing counseling.
